Ariel Patkin is an active performer and enthusiastic teacher who enjoys sharing her life-long love of music with others. Beginning as a Suzuki violin student, she later discovered the charm of the viola and went on to perform on both instruments throughout the United States, Canada, and Italy.
Ms. Patkin holds a Bachelor's Degree from The Hartt School of Music and a Master’s Degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. Previous teachers and mentors include Erica Eckert, Rita Porfiris, as well as members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and The Takács Quartet.
During her tenure in The Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Ariel had the great privilege of collaborating with and learning from world-class musicians such as Yo-Yo Ma, Riccardo Muti, Christoph Eschenbach, Ken-David Masur, Marin Alsop, Nicholas Kraemer, and Erina Yashima, among others.
Now based in Connecticut, Ms. Patkin regularly plays with several regional orchestras and ensembles.
A registered Suzuki teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, Ariel offers both Suzuki and Traditional violin and viola lessons.
